These three posters: Madison Park Beach, Lake Union and Green Lake are a few of my favorite places in Seattle. I created the series to be shown in the Madison Park Art Walk this last September. They highlight the craziness, and fun of being out and about on a summer day in the city.
I used a pastel color palette inspired by the famous painting "Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" by Georges Seurat. I made the people simple but highlighted the difference in body types, skin color and clothing. The compositions are busy and chaotic which give the viewer a sense of the millions of different scenarios, conversations and situations people are in on a constant basis.
